What’s that sound in my telephone??

I have installed new cordless phones in my house and when you talk to someone you are very muffled sounding. Also when you speak there is a loud clanging noise almost as if someone where slapping there hand down on the counter top?

Is it the phone or the phone line? What do I need to do?

it could be either a uniden or vtech or some other poorly made phone…

it could be a 2.4 ghz phone and is getting interfearance from WiFi, a microwave, or some other electronic device near by… change the channel that the WIFI router transmitts on… (new phones change channels constantly on there own and do NOT have a channel button, so forget the answer about changing your phone channel)

if all else fails, you really need to test with a corded phone to determine if it is the phone or the line… but as it appears this only happened after you added the new phones, then logic tells me that that would be the first choice for what is causing the problem…
